ABOUT
We are a group of diverse individuals with diverse experiences that we are able to share with each of our clients in an unique way. Our philosophy is that every human has the opportunity for growth and healing when they enter the therapy room. We follow the clients lead to lean into what has brought them to therapy with the thought that we will challenge and empower our clients throughout treatment. We acknowledge that the process may at times be uncomfortable or difficult with many feelings arising throughout.

Individual Therapy

At times, life becomes overwhelming for each of us. We attempt to navigate the ups and downs on our own, not reaching out for support as we don’t want to be a burden to others. Leaving us to manage many emotions on our own while still trying to engage in daily life. That doesn't have to be the option for you. When you choose therapy at Truth Center for Health and Healing, we carry you through your hardest times, empower you through your biggest life transitions, and champion you to your biggest wins. We provide a safe and compassionate space for you to explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Our team of highly skilled and compassionate therapists are dedicated to supporting you on your journey toward greater health and healing.

Family Therapy

At the Truth Center for Health and Healing, we recognize that families may experience a range of challenges that can impact their overall happiness and quality of life. Our experienced counselors specialize in family therapy services in Philadelphia, and we are here to help you navigate through any difficulties that you and your loved ones may be facing. By working together, we can create a safe and supportive space for your family to build stronger, more fulfilling relationships that will last a lifetime.

COUPLES THERAPY

Thinking of couples therapy? When we enter into partnership we are not only bringing our individual selves, but the families, cultures and other world views that we have been exposed to over the years. These views teach us how to engage with others and if you have experienced any trauma or tragedies in your life, that also shapes how you may protect yourself within your relationships, especially romantic ones! We feel the most vulnerable in our romantic relationships as we’re trusting someone with the deepest parts of ourselves. So it TOTALLY makes sense that you would want couples therapy to be an option for you.

Emily Close, MFT

Pre-Licensed Therapist

Growing up, I had a teacher who, during a problem-solving exercise, prompted the class to ask the quieter kids for their input. My teacher shared that these kids tend to observe all that’s occurring in the moment and their observations provide insight that might have otherwise been overlooked. To me, therapy acts as the otherwise forgotten insight that could hold the key to progress in life.

Exie Adams, LMFT

Licensed Therapist

My number one career goal as a therapist is to work myself out of a job. For me, this means equipping you with the tools, insight and support necessary to manage your stressors, heal from trauma and to live a meaningful life. I strive for this by using a client centered approach that understands that human struggles do not exist in a vacuum but are the combination of lived experiences.

Alexis Moses, LPC

Licensed Therapist

Becoming a therapist was not my first career choice but instead something that found me. As I have grown in my own self awareness and healing, I’m so glad that this is where I’ve landed. I truly enjoy seeing people set free from negative life patterns and ways of thinking that keep them stuck. I believe there is something really beautiful about walking with someone through the ups and downs, messiness and triumphs of life, helping them to see that they were more capable than they realized,

Lavonda Handy, LMFT

Owner & Therapist AAMFT Approved Supervisor

From an early age, I witnessed and was attuned to the disconnect between people causing missed opportunities of being heard and seen by one another. As a therapist, I see individuals, couples, and families experiencing this disconnect and missed opportunities for connection all too much. You are on my page because you are looking to connect authentically to yourself and others. You feel lost, unsure, or need to heal from trauma and tragedy.
